"Storm Alert 2008" Music produced by The Weather channel. Upload by VercittiGangBoy via Youtube.
Well with that music playing, we all know what time it is. Yes, finally we will get some snow but just how much?
Before we get to the totals, I will mention the timing of this storm. I see most of the precipitation occuring during the overnight hours on Friday into your morning commute for Saturday. I can also see the heaviest of snow occuring from 2-4AM, depending on where are you in the state.
This storm is not your typical nor-easter, as it will have a Southwest-Northeast type of flow instead of a Southeast-Northwest type of flow. That could allow more precipitation for parts of Southern New Jersey instead of further North.
However the temperatures will be an issue for some parts of the region, mainly Southern New Jersey, due to temperatures staying above freezing for some parts of the storm. That will cut down on accumulations down there.
As of now, I'm thinking the big winners of this storm is Northwest New Jersey, but still in doubt depending on where the storm actually tracks. I will keep an eye on that tomorrow so stay tuned for that!
Here is my forecast map below:

Dark Blue=6-8" (higher in high elevations)
Lighter Blue= 4-6"
Lightest Blue= 2-4"
Green= 1-2" (more or less depending on temperatures)
Now, here is your 3 day forecast!
Friday- Clouds start to roll in for your weekend as the snow starts approaching our area overnight. Be advised to take your winter gear out as well as we will only reach a high of 34 degreees with a low of 24 degrees.
Saturday- Snow, snow and more snow! Snow will be impacting us through out the morning so please don't be on the roads unless you really have to! Conditions will gradually improve through out the day so your weekend plans won't be cancelled. Our high will be at 36 degrees while our low will be a frigid 22 degrees.
Sunday- We might actually save the weekend with the NFC Championship Game! Even though they could see some rain over in the Bay area, we will be seeing some sunshine before another storm approaches late Sunday into our day Monday. I will keep an eye out for that storm as it might affect our Monday morning commute! The high will reach 40 degrees while our low will be at 38 so not alot of difference there!
