I know this is a weather blog but today marks an important day for this website. Ever since my friend BJ Giannone died, I have been dedicating the blog in his memory. Today would have been his 19th birthday, so I have decided that there will be no posting from me today in his memory. A video tribute will be shown below (created by my friend Alex Smith):

Hello everyone and welcome back to the blog!
I don't know if you guys have seen my facebook statuses lately, but I have been ("hyping") up a storm potential for the 20th-25th. If you did see my facebook status today, this is what I posted:
"thinks cold front/miller b action on 10-11th, lakes cutter to change pattern on 14-15th and then first arctic blast+ potential storm around 20-25th" (Me).
Well lets take a look at the recent 18z GFS (on...

I hope those of you without power, can be safe and manage your way through this. But, what a storm this was (based on standards for the month of October of course). If this was a month later, I believe we all could have been crippled just as bad as NW NJ is right now. This will definitely have its own page and will be up within the next few weeks. So since the storm is over, I will evaluate my call and see if I ended up correctly!

I really can't talk alot about the storm tonight due to me having work tommorow morning but I will be on in the afternoon tommorow with updates as we get ready for the storm. Here is my snow map:

Light Green=Rain at the beginning before changing over to snow by evening, 2-4" ...

We have a upper level low that will start to develop across the Upper Midwest and will stall itself for the next couple of days, creating waves of low pressure along the frontal boundary.
Before I go into specific details a...

Good Afternoon everyone!
Sorry I have not been updating recently but my busy life has really limited my free time but with me being sick as well today I'm not 100%. But, I want to take a shot at making a forecast discussion so here we go.
Short Range (9/19/11-9/21/11)
The High Pressure area that was on top of us the last few days will now depart our region as a Weak Cold Front approaches the area. Fair skies will persist overnight tonight with temps remaining in the mid to u...

Good Morning everyone,
I have been working on the Hurricane Irene page since this morning and that will be completed in the next couple of days so stay tuned on it. For all the areas that have still have no power and are flooded out, my thoughts and prayers are with you. Any property that might have experienced damage from the storm should contact FEMA or go to your municipality website to find out if your able to file a claim. So since this storm is now officially over........

Well folks, we are less than 24 hrs away from Irene making first landfall in North Carolina. After seeing all the weather models through out the day, I believe I have enough evidence to make my final track and it is linked below.
